emelia hanna micheli
growing up the middle child in a family of five girls had nightmare potential. but for a shy introvert like emelia hanna micheli it was a paradise. she was rarely the center of her parent’s attention, though they certainly loved her and lavished affection her as they did all of their children, and at school she had a safety net built of her sisters whenever she stumbled or faltered while navigating the treacherous social waters of adolescence. in hindsight, emelia may have wished to have stood on her own more, relied a little less on the girls she shared her home and life with, but she’d grown used to being the quiet one and letting her sisters fight her battles, comfortable and complacent with being the perfect stereotype of a middle child.
born in cambridge to a humble, hardworking and loving family emelia excelled quietly in school, constantly receiving top marks and commendations which she frequently shoved to the bottom of her bookbag only to be found by her mother months after the fact. despite her educational performance, she floundered when it came to college – unsure of what school to pick or what major to attend. she floated aimlessly between majors for her first two years at boston university, a school selected for its proximity to home, before settling on a degree in public relations, essentially following in her older sister’s footsteps after finding herself unable to chart her own course.
after graduation she found jobs at random, bouncing between several newly started companies, all of which seemed to crumble and sink under once she got her footing and found herself comfortable in her role there. it was after her fourth or fifth year and what felt like her hundredth company filed for bankruptcy and shut its doors, that her oldest sister came to her discuss applying at bergmen industries, which was very quickly becoming something of a “family business” as sister after sister found themselves working for the prestigious company. emelia was hesitant at first, anxious at the idea of working for a place so large, but with a little nudging from her older sisters, she handed over her resume and found herself with a job before she could blink.
she currently lives in boston with her cat, fawkes, and fills her spare time with art projects. she’s particularly fond of street art, which she studies with great intensity. it’s well outside of her comfort zone to actually venture into the world of graffiti artists herself but she admires them from afar and keeps photo albums filled with pictures of her favorite pieces from all over the city.
